Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I wanted to take a few moments to thank you all for your prayers and your support over the last several months here at SMBC. Sybil and I are ever grateful for you and our prayers go up for you daily.
Just for information, Sybil will be hosting a “Ladies Coffee” on Tuesday, August 7th, 2012 @ 10am. As most of you know Sybil will be retiring the 31st of July and will finally be able to do the things she wants to do in the church. I am so thankful that this day is finally coming soon so that I can have my wife by my side (everyday) in this ministry. She is a blessing to so many and I am sure that she will be able to minister to many now that we will have the time.
We will be hosting the “Teen Rally” on September 28th, 2012 @ 7:30 pm here at SMBC. I will be calling on many of you to help in hosting this “holy hoard” of youngsters on that day.
God has really blessed us these past several years and I am so thankful that He has thought enough of us to let us minister to so many people in this community. I could not do this without your support and prayers and, again, Thank You! I look forward in anticipation everyday to see what God will do next. This is an exciting time to be a Christian and as our study of Revelation reveals, we need to set about the task of reaching the lost for Christ. Having said that I am quick to add that we need to seek out the Lord’s will in everything we do. As Georg Christoph Lichtenberg put it, “Never undertake anything for which you wouldn’t have the courage to ask the blessings of heaven.”
Please remember to pray for the sick and infirm in our church. The list seems to get longer every week but God is still in control and we take consolation in that fact.
Have a blessed day!
