Funeral Service for Sis. Sue Childers

Greetings to all:

I am writing this post today with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Sis. Sue Childers on Thursday, March 9th, 2017. Her funeral will be Sunday, March 12th, 2017 at South Middleburg Baptist Church, 4565 Alligator Boulevard, Middleburg, Florida 32068. Viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Ed Brown and Rev. Delton Kilpatrick presiding. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hardage Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, Florida 32068. Internment will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 822 Hammond Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32221. Our church will provide dinner for the family in the Fellowship Hall of SMBC after internment. Our thoughts and prayers go out to this special family that God will give them the peace that only He can give.

For those of you who are new to SMBC I would like to give you a brief history about how we came into being. Bro. Calvin Childers answered a call from God to plant a church in the South Middleburg area and after prayer and a lot of hard work, SMBC was born. I have often heard it said that behind every successful man there is a good woman. That statement could not be more true than it is in this case. Sis. Sue has stood with her husband through the good and the bad and has always trusted in God. Truly, this woman’s Crown of Glory is well deserved.

So many of us have called her sister and friend over the years that we will surely feel a deep loss. However, we can rejoice in the fact that she has now realized all of the promises our Savior has given to us and the strains of this world no longer encumber her.

***Important Scheduling Note***

We will not have an evening service or choir practice on Sunday, March 12th, 2017. We will resume our normal schedule the following Sunday, March 19th, 2017.
