Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I would like to take just a moment to let everyone know we will be showing “Take Back America” on sunday evening, September 9th, @ 6:00 p.m.. This DVD, produced by the Liberty Counsel, is very informative about the rights and privileges churches and pastors are seemingly confused about. The Christian community has been told for far too long to “keep silent” in issues affecting our great nation at the same time our liberties are being eroded. Well, as this great production tells us, silence is no longer an option. The upcoming elections in November are going to be so critical for the spiritual path our churches are “allowed” to take. Please plan on attending (and bring some friends) SMBC sunday evening and join the growing ranks of “informed” Christians. I promise you will come away far more understanding about our civil liberties than you had before.
We have had some serious illnesses/surgeries in our church family over the past several weeks. The following is a list that stand in need of prayer: Sandy Taylor, Walter Quiett (Sis. Darlene’s dad), Catherine Bradley, Catherine Harper, Matt Oliver, Glenda Kerr, Charlotte Primaldi, Sue Childers, Ernestine Lewis, and Leroy Yeomans . There are many more that need our prayers and I invite all to call these names before the throne of God each and every time you pray.
Congratulations are in order for Leslie Collingsworth and James Molina as they embark on a life together in matrimony. Please join me in praying for this couple and their beautiful families and that God will richly bless them over the coming years as they spend their lives together.
Don’t forget we will be hosting the first “Teen Challenge” on September 28th, 2012 @ 7:30 p.m.. The Bible quiz will be on I John 1 . Bro. Dick and I will be serving up some “burnt offerings” of hot dogs and hamburgers. If you are one of our adults who will be helping serve and prepare I am asking you to please be at the church by 6:30 p.m..
That’s all for now! I will try to keep everyone posted on upcoming events so check back frequently.
Praying for you all and God Bless!
Bro. Delton
